In one of the presentations from Josh’s yearlong course, The Mythic Body, the discussion explored the underworld and our relationship with the dead. Rather than seeing ancestral trauma as a distant, internalized burden, the presentation framed the ancestors as present, alive, and actively engaged in our lives. This animist perspective challenges the Western individualist mindset, inviting participants to recognize that the dead are not gone—they are co-inhabitants of our world, offering support, guidance, and healing.
